I am Ruth from Walk Dublin and we give fun Walking Tours. Mostly Medieval is a family tour exploring the sights, sounds and smells of a very different Dublin. It is designed to bring out your inner child, or Knight depending on your preference! Hidden History explores Dublin homes over time beginning with Georgian grandeur which descended into grinding tenement life. We see the remains of Abbeys and Monasteries and wonder was it a Monks life of did the Vikings have a better time? Our third Tour Going Georgian Coffee Houses will recommence towards the end of September. After the lively walk through 1700’s coffee house history. Tales of duels ensue, book sales, quidnuncs. Then we go to a beautiful Georgian building where we test our taste buds to see whether we are drinking coffee or coffee substitute, lots of sweet treats are offered to work through the sampling courses.
There are 27 designated “Heritage Towns” in Ireland. These towns have their own unique character and special interest to visitors. Some Heritage Towns proudly depict their rich ancient past, while others highlight nearby attractions like unique local architecture. Irish Heritage Towns are friendly and inviting and the locals are proud to “show-off” their hometowns as they work, in most cases voluntary so all our visitors leave these shores commenting on the beauty of all they have seen and eager to return in future years.
