How to get to Sligo Town

Getting to Sligo Town from Connemara in County Galway is relatively easy. The fastest way to get there is by car, as the journey takes around 1 hour and 20 minutes via the N17. It’s also possible to take a bus or train, though it will take substantially more time.

For those traveling by bus, there are a few different companies that operate routes to Sligo Town from Connemara with regular schedules. The journey takes around 3-4 hours and requires several transfers.

Those who prefer to take the train can do so via Connolly Station in Dublin, changing at Boyle for the onward journey to Sligo Town. The entire trip takes around 4-5 hours and there are several departures per day.

Whichever mode of transport you choose, getting to Sligo Town from Connemara is a relatively easy journey and certainly worth the effort!
