Who owns the Cabra Castle now?
Cabra Castle is owned by the Corscadden family, who bought it in 1991. Since then they have extensively refurbished and expanded the property, adding six cottages on the estate and incorporating the former Courtyard and Gate Lodge, bringing the total to around 105 bedrooms. The Corscadden family continue to own and run the hotel today.
About Cabra Castle
Cabra Castle is a historic castle near Kingscourt in County Cavan. The site was home to an earlier round tower castle known as Cormey Castle. The Foster family rebuilt it in 1808, and in 1820 Colonel Pratt, who had bought the property in 1813, renamed it Cabra Castle. It is a Gothic-style building set in its own parkland.
The Cabra Castle estate is one of Ireland’s finest country house hotels, offering luxury accommodation and fine dining in an atmosphere of genuine hospitality. With its traditional decor and characterful interiors, Cabra Castle is the ideal choice for a romantic break or family holiday. The hotel has a restaurant and hosts events throughout the year, and guests can explore the grounds on foot.

Cabra Castle is the perfect destination for those looking to explore Irish history and culture, enjoy some quality time with friends and family or just get away from it all. With its stunning grounds and spectacular views, Cabra Castle is an ideal pick for a visit to Ireland. Whether you’re looking for a romantic break, family holiday or just some rest and relaxation, Cabra Castle is the perfect place to do it all.
How to get to Cabra Castle
