John Lennon’s County Mayo Irish Cottage Dream

Beatles icon John Lennon, known for his strong connection to his Irish roots, had envisioned spending his twilight years on Dorinish Island had tragedy not intervened. Shortly before his tragic death, Lennon shared his aspirations for the future with Yoko Ono, stating, “I hope we’re a nice old couple living off the coast of Ireland, looking at our scrapbook of madness.”

If not for the devastating events of 1980, Lennon might have transformed this remote Irish island in County Mayo into a secluded sanctuary, according to his Irish legal representative.
