Morning

EPIC The Irish Emigration Museum

Location: The CHQ Building , Custom House Quay, D01 T6K4
Duration: 1 hour 

Don’t just visit Ireland, understand it with a visit to the EPIC, winner of Europe’s Leading Tourist Attraction at the World Travel Awards 2019. EPIC is an interactive journey about how a small island made a big impact on the world. Discover why Irishness is celebrated around the world, with a journey through Irish history & culture, told from the perspective of those who lived. To begin your journey you will receive a stamped passport as you enter the exhibition, & then follow a path through the 20 themed galleries. You will discover why people left, see how they influenced the world they found, & experience the connection between their descendants & Ireland today. Immerse yourself in the stories of some of the most remarkable tales of sacrifice, endurance, adventure, and discovery the world has ever known. EPIC brings these amazing stories to life in a unique & spectacular way. Located in Dublin’s Docklands. Open daily from 10am. Last entry is 5pm, museum closes at 6:45pm.

Depart EPIC and tram to Heuston Station to Phoenix Park 

Phoenix Park Bikes

Location: Gate House, Chesterfield Avenue, Phoenix Park, D08 DF88
Duration: 1 hour 

Phoenix Park is the largest enclosed public park in any capital city in Europe. Home to the Irish President!  The park is one of only two parks in the world to receive a prestigious Gold Award in the Inaugural International Large Urban Parks Awards organised by World Urban Parks. Your guide will point out historical houses and monuments of interest – best spots to watch some of the 500 wild fallow deer who graze there!  Listen out for the roar of lions or howl of monkeys at Dublin Zoo.

Irish Museum of Modern Art

Location: 21-122 James St, The Liberties, Dublin, D08T27
Duration: 1 hour 

Nestled in 48 acres of land in the heart of Dublin 8, contemporary art gallery IMMA’s home, is the  historical site of the Royal Hospital Kilmainham, with its accompanying formal gardens and a large meadowland.  Its campus creates a space where contemporary life and contemporary art connect. Visit a wide range of exhibitions featuring the work of leading Irish and International artist.  Gallery-based tours and workshops; studio-based programmes in the artists’ residency studio block; talks, seminars and artist-led events.  Entrance to the museum and grounds are free, with a small charge for special exhibitions. Pearse Lyons Distillery

Location: 121-122 James St, The Liberties, Dublin, D08 ET27
Duration: 1 hour 

One of Dublin’s newest whiskey distilleries. Take a journey through 800 years of history at St. James’s Church which has been transformed into a boutique whiskey distillery. Afterwards walk via Frances Street – Dublin’s Antique Quarter for St Patrick’s Cathedral.

St Patrick’s Cathedral

Location: St Patrick’s Close, Dublin 8, A96 P599

A magnificent cathedral that houses Jonathan Swift’s remains (he wrote Gulliver’s Travels). It is the only remaining cathedral in Ireland with a daily sung services. A small entrance fee is charged for tourists and all money raised goes back to paying for the upkeep of the building.

Use the Discovery Space to learn some of the wonderful stories this building has to offer through touch screen technologies; take time to do a brass rubbing or build a model of the Cathedral. (Allow 35-40 mins)
