Limerick just gave us another reason to slow down on the Wild Atlantic Way. The city debuts Linger: Limerick Festival of Food, Heritage and Place from 11–13 September 2026, and it’s built around an idea we love: that food tells the story of a place.
More than 25 events spread across three days — long-table dinners, walking tours that trace Limerick’s food heritage through its streets, producer markets, and local showcases. For anyone planning an autumn Ireland trip, this fills a gap. Limerick has serious food credentials but often gets driven through rather than explored. A dedicated festival gives visitors a structured way to actually experience it.
September timing is smart too. Shoulder season means fewer crowds, better accommodation rates, and weather that’s still reasonable for wandering a city on foot.
