The Irish Tenors Belfast Concert: A Night of Irish Music and Song
The Irish Tenors are a world-renowned group of four tenors who have been performing together since 1998. They have released nine studio albums, toured all over the world and won numerous awards. In 2000, they released a live album and DVD titled “The Irish Tenors Live in Belfast.”
This concert was recorded at the Waterfront Hall in Belfast, Northern Ireland and it features the Tenors performing a variety of traditional Irish songs, as well as some popular covers.
The concert begins with the Tenors singing a medley of traditional Irish songs, including “Danny Boy,” “The Minstrel Boy,” and “The Rose of Tralee.” The audience is immediately captivated by their beautiful voices and their infectious enthusiasm.
After the medley, the Tenors each take a turn singing a solo. Ronan Tynan sings a moving rendition of “The Last Rose of Summer,” while Derek Ryan sings a lively version of “The Galway Shawl.” Finbar Wright sings a hauntingly beautiful version of “Isle of Innisfree” and Paul Byrom sings a powerful version of “The Fields of Athenry.”
After the solos, the Tenors come together to sing a variety of popular covers including “Amazing Grace,” “Hallelujah” and “You Raise Me Up.”
They also sing a duet with the Belfast Philharmonic Choir on “The Sound of Music.” The concert ends with the Tenors singing a rousing version of “Ireland’s Call” which is the national anthem of Ireland.
