Mia’s deep-rooted musical heritage stems from her family, as she is the granddaughter of the renowned showband star Gerry Black, who performed with iconic groups such as The Hilton, The Finnavons and Gerry Black & The Seasons. She also proudly claims the great-niece title of Mickey O’Neill, known for his collaborations with Brendan Bowyer and The Swarbriggs.
Immersed in a musical environment from an early age, Mia is surrounded by uncles, aunts and cousins who are actively engaged in the music industry today. Her journey into the limelight began a few years back when she started busking in the vibrant streets of Galway. It wasn’t long before her exceptional vocal abilities turned her into a social media sensation, quickly amassing a dedicated following on YouTube.
To date, Mia has achieved remarkable milestones, boasting a substantial fan base with 99.6 thousand YouTube subscribers, 38.9 thousand Instagram followers and over 150 thousand monthly listeners on Spotify.
Her videos on the Dublin City Today YouTube Channel have garnered nearly 10 million combined views. Mia has even had the privilege of recording with “Boyce Avenue,” the most-followed American band on YouTube, at their Film Studio in Florida.
