Irish Cheddar Spring Onion Biscuits
These Irish Cheddar Spring Onion Biscuits are sure to rival the best. To get the most out of the cheddar cheese, it is layered and folded in a la puff pastry. This does take some extra time, but is worth the effort for these delicious biscuits!
To make 12 biscuits, you’ll need 2 cups self-rising flour (plus more if needed), 1/4 teaspoon baking soda, 7 tablespoons very cold butter, 3/4 cup buttermilk, 1/2 cup shredded Irish cheddar or other sharp cheddar cheese, and 1/4 cup sliced green onions (with mostly tender light green parts). Bake at 400 F for about 20 minutes. If making your own self-rising flour, sift together 2 cups all-purpose flour, 2 teaspoons baking powder, and 1 teaspoon fine salt. Enjoy!
