This unusual relic had been displayed in a heart-shaped reliquary for 800 years until it vanished without a trace in 2012. The theft, meticulously planned, involved cutting through iron bars and chains to remove the precious artifact.
Despite extensive investigations, the heart remained missing for six years until the thieves themselves reached out to the authorities. They claimed that the heart was cursed, as several of their family members had suffered sudden heart attacks. Anonymously dropped off in Phoenix Park, the heart was eventually returned to its rightful place in Christ Church Cathedral.
