The Guinness Storehouse has once again clinched the coveted title of Europe’s leading tourist attraction, as announced at an awards ceremony held in Batumi, Georgia on Friday.

In this fierce competition, the Dublin-based destination triumphed over renowned landmarks like the Eiffel Tower in Paris and Buckingham Palace in London.

This achievement marks the second time that the Guinness Storehouse has claimed this prestigious honour, having previously secured the title in 2015. Moreover, 2023 signifies the consecutive year in which it has been recognized as Europe’s Leading Beer Tour Visitor Experience.

It outshone formidable contenders such as the Heineken Experience in Amsterdam and The Budweiser Budvar Brewery in the Czech Republic.

Catherine Toolan, Managing Director of Diageo Irish Brand Homes, expressed her delight, stating, “We are absolutely thrilled to receive both of these esteemed awards on behalf of the entire team at The Guinness Storehouse.”

Irish Word of the Day

“Cheers” in Irish is sláinte which is pronounced a bit like “slawn-che”. Sláinte means “health”, and if you’re feeling brave, you can say sláinte is táinte (“slawn-che iss toin-che”), meaning “health and wealth”.
