THE BLARNEY STONE Kiss it and you will never again be lost for words

The Blarney Stone is a legendary piece of stone set in the wall of Blarney Castle, near Cork, Ireland. It has been the site of many legends and myths for centuries, but the most famous one is that those who kiss the stone will receive the gift of eloquence. This legend dates back to at least 1564, with the first official mention of kissing the stone as a way to receive a blessing or favour.

Since then, many have made pilgrimages to Blarney Castle in order to kiss the stone and experience its magical powers. It is said that those who kiss the stone will experience a special kind of happiness, have an easier time convincing others of their points of view, and will be blessed with heightened creativity.

The act of kissing the stone is a unique experience, as it requires visitors to lie on their backs and bend over backwards to access the small space where the stone is located. Though this can seem daunting, many have found the effort to be worth it once they’ve felt the power of the stone.

So, have you kissed the stone? Did it work its magic?

A new Cork Women’s Shed already has 800 group members on Facebook

We’ve all heard of Men’s Sheds.

These community spaces are where men come together to take part in hands-on activities such as woodworking, metalworking, and other hobbies and typically provide a supportive environment for socialising, and sharing skills.

The camaraderie helps combat the feelings of isolation that some men might experience, especially as they get older.

While the Men’s Sheds movement has been going from strength to strength since its inception in 1998 in Victoria, Australia, Women’s Sheds are a relatively new phenomenon but they have been growing in popularity in recent years.

Women’s Sheds provide a supportive and inclusive environment for women to pursue hobbies, learn new skills, and form community ties.
