Ulster Fry World Champion

A farm shop and restaurant has won the first ever Ulster Fry World Championship at a recent festival.

The Ulster Fry World Championship was held as part of the Donaghadee Summer Festival, organised by Donaghadee Community Development Association, with some additional help from Ards and North Down Borough Council and FoodNI.

McKee’s Country Store, Farm Shop and Restaurant in Co Down have said they were thrilled to take home the title on Saturday, August 19, after impressing the judges with their take on the popular dish believing their locally produced ingredients and great chef helped them to secure the victory.

The vast majority of all of the ingredients used by McKee’s have been created in their home bakery or reared on their farm itself.

Eighteen Tipperary producers have been confirmed as finalists in this year’s Irish Food Awards.

10 Louth producers shortlisted for 2023 Blas na hÉireann awards

14 producers from Co. Wexford are finalists for Irish Food Awards

17 food and drink producers from the midlands have been announced as finalists for Blan na hÉireann, The Irish Food Awards 2023.

There are nine in Laois, five in Westmeath and three in Offaly.

Among the nominees are The Village Dairy in Laois, Bon Chocolatiers in Westmeath and Glenisk in Offaly.

The nominations are spread out across a wide range of awards categories and production, including chocolatiers, breweries and farm foods.

The awards will be held in Dingle from September 28th to 30th

Tipping culture in Ireland is becoming more and more like the American style of tipping, according to several customers.

The nine best restaurants in Ireland have been revealed

It’s close to being a head to head between two counties.

The nine best restaurants in Ireland have been announced for the 2023 Uber Eats awards.

The takeaway company shortlisted the nine restaurants alongside other lists across England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland.

Voting is open to the public to decide who out of the nine is the best and the winner of each regional list will then be invited to a judging day in London, hosted by Great British Bake Off host Prue Leith and Chef Monica Galetti.
