Cliffs of Moher, County Clare

We really do love an unusual perspective of the Cliffs of Moher and this is definitely one of the best we’ve seen. It gives such a great angle on this incredibly popular location

For those of you who’d prefer not to get this close to the edge, the main viewing area beside the visitor centre certainly offers wonderful scenery with 0% chance of danger. For anyone else who’d prefer to get a little closer to the cliff, there’s plenty of opportunities along the lengthy cliff-side walk which runs for 14km all the way from Doolin to Hag’s Head. Having said that, we would very much encourage you to keep a safe distance from the cliff face as erratic gusts of wind are an all too regular occurrence in the area

Behold a scene out of time!

In 1574, as pirate sea queen Grace O’Malley inhabited Rockfleet Castle on the northern shores of Clew Bay in County Mayo, the English sent an expedition of ships and troops to put an end to her maritime exploits. The tower house castle was under siege for days when the pirate queen and her 200 men turned the tables and the hunters became the hunted… Credit @tourismireland
