About Bailieborough Castle
Bailieborough Castle is a historic site located in County Cavan, Ireland. It was built by the local bailiff of Lord Farnham during the late 18th century. The castle has held many important gatherings and events over the years, including a meeting between King George IV and Lord Farnham in 1821.
Unfortunately it was largely destroyed by fire in the early 20th century, and is now totally demolished.
There is a 3-kilometre (1.9 mi) walking trail around part of the former castle’s property.
