Wow, we wondered if there is any truth in the story do local people or teenagers pee on the Blarney stone, if so who would you still kiss it? If asked locals would reply: – “Oh yeah, well you know what I did on the stone last night?”
Everytime we post on our Love Ireland Facebook Group, people also always refer to people peeing on the stone..
Unfortunately this for the “pee on the Blarney stone” conspiracy theorists, this urban legend is nothing but a myth,
Upon further investigation we found the following facts:
Firstly you have to climb 114 steps to get to the stone and furthermore the castle is securely closed in the evening.
And to put the minds of everyone at rest – To ensure that the castle remained sanitary, different processes were put in place when it reopened last year. Staff on-site clean the stone with a cleanser approved by the World Health Organization, which kills 99.9% of germs and viruses and is entirely safe to use close to people.
So, Why do people kiss the Blarney stone?
So, it might be time for a visit to Blarney Castle and do kiss the stone!
